The HR generalist will have both administrative and strategic responsibilities, helping us to plan and administer important functions, such as staffing, training and development, and compensation and benefits. Objectives of this Role
Partner with the Production Manager for all human resource needs for the shop floor employees, initiatives, and projects
Lead employee engagement efforts based on an annual survey with a goal of reaching the top engagement quartile
Assist in developing and executing personnel procedures and policies, providing guidance and interpretation for business operations
Participate in development of HR objectives and systems, including metrics, queries, and standard reports for ongoing company requirements
Suggest new procedures and policies to continually improve efficiency of the HR department and overall organization, and to improve employee experience
Ensure legal compliance of HR state and federal regulations and applicable employment laws, and update policies and/or procedures as required
Assist in administering benefits, compensation, and employee performance programs
Daily and Monthly Responsibilities
Provide an effective and dedicated HR advisory service to employees in relation to absence and health issues, conduct and capability, grievance matters, organizational change, and all other employee-relations matters
Lead the talent acquisition/recruitment process including temp agency relations, job postings, interview scheduling, candidate selection and the onboarding process for production and admin roles across the organization for both external and internal applicants/postings
Be the primary person for payroll processing, including; weekly & bi-weekly payroll, coordination with Corporate Payroll, initiating paid leave scenarios, bonus/incentive pay, tracking vacation/sick pay, inputting exceptions, and hourly employee validations
Support FMLA, disability, and other Leave of Absence (LOA) administration and coordination
Contribute to the COVID-19 safety team and manage implementation of policies with employees and team
Provide timely customer service in response to questions from employees
Facilitate and support initiatives surrounding employee engagement survey and help improve the overall employee experience through focus groups & action planning
Support performance management processes and benefits administration
Assign and monitor completion of employee training
Create timely and accurate routine reports for internal and external customers
Support Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion initiatives across the organization
Handle all administrative & HR tasks for onboarding such as entering data into the HRIS system, facilitating smooth new hire onboarding process, preparing paperwork, scheduling new hire orientation, and coordinating with cross-functional departments to deliver an exceptional first-day experience whether in person or virtual
Contributes to the development of policies and assists in the communication, interpretation, and upkeep of those policies including the handbook, employee directory, code of conduct and organizational chart and handles document retention & compliance
Handle all HRIS and data reporting including auditing data for accuracy and compliance
Skills and Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in HR, business, or a related field
Additional HR training or experience is a plus
Excellent communication skills, interpersonal skills, ethics, and cultural awareness
Resourceful, problem-solving aptitude and thorough knowledge of HR procedures and policies
Advanced knowledge of MS Office, HRIS systems such as Workday, and ability to learn new technical systems as needed
Ability to partner and meet the needs of all levels of the organization
Proven experience working in an HR department
Natural interpersonal and communication skills
Strong detail-oriented, goal-oriented, and resourceful mindset
Knowledge of Kronos Payroll System a plus
Knowledge of HR federal laws and regulations
