Richter U.S. Geismar, LA

REPORTS TO:

General Manager

Part of IDEX Corporation, Richter Pumps and Valves USA is a pioneer of lined pumps and valves, enabling our customers to safely operate their challenging production processes for over 65 years. Richter manufactures the highest quality PFA-lined magnetic drive pumps and valves, in addition to high-alloy severe service ball valves. Our North American operations are strategically headquartered in Geismar, LA, with additional sales and support staff located throughout the country.

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

The HR Manager will report directly to the General Manager of Richter U.S. with a dotted line to the Global HR Director of Richter. be a key member of the leadership team for Richter U.S. The person in this role will serve as a value-added business partner who leads the function for the facility as a member of the local leadership team. This position will support and implement strategic HR processes and initiatives including coaching & partnering with leadership, organizational design, talent development, employee engagement, change management and core HR operational excellence. This role drives Human Resource programs that support the mission, vision and values of Richter U.S.. Supporting - if requested - other Business Units of IDEX as well as corporate initiatives.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensures the business has the right number and type of talent required to execute growth strategy and achieve desired business results.

  • Lead Organization and Talent Discussions to assess current state talent and identify needs to drive expected business growth

  • Determine recruitment strategies to obtain predominantly technical talent through full-time, contract and 3rd party opportunities including software engineers and developers

  • Develop and implement opportunities to drive Diversity, Equity and Inclusion activities into the culture of Richter U.S. in partnership with IDEX programs

  • Manage core HR processes to ensure toolset allows employees to live our IDEX Values and support the IDEX Difference mindset

  • Lead performance management and goal setting cycles to drive clear focus and opportunity for transparent, 2-way communications

  • Assess and lead opportunities for training including DEI, Situational Leadership, Manager effectiveness, etc.

  • Create an inclusive onboarding process that allows for effective and timely assimilation into the culture and business

  • General HR Operational Excellence

  • Provide advice and input on general employee issues; Facilitate feedback to key stakeholders; working closely with appropriate parties to ensure timely production of appropriate documentation and sign off.

  • Ensure compliance across company policies and procedures.

  • Function as a subject matter expert for HR systems.

  • Support leave management processes including FMLA, Parental Leave and Disability.

  • Lead compensation planning activities for assigned internal customers

  • Resolves employee relations issues in a fair and consistent manner that recognizes employee needs and protects the needs of the business to operate in an effective and efficient manner.

  • Establishes and maintains a presence on the shop floor to keep a read on the pulse of the organization.

  • Implements appropriate risk management policies and procedures to ensure compliance with safety requirements and local, state, and federal employment laws. Serves as a member of the safety committee.

  • Manage other duties or projects as assigned.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or a related field is preferred.

  • Minimum five years progressive Human Resources generalist experience required.

  • Experience leading talent initiatives including performance reviews, talent cycles and development planning required

  • Experience supporting management in building necessary engagement plans to ensure IDEX values are culturalized into the business

  • Strong track record of managing employee relations in a pragmatic approach that focuses on support both the employee and employer in proactive resolution

  • Successful track record of recruiting, developing and retaining both hourly and salary talent along with selecting and developing partnerships with third-party recruiting agencies.

  • Experience with Workday and Kronos preferred.

OTHER SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Strong initiative, excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Candidate must have a naturally curious mindset, interested in learning the business and industry and capable of building credibility into the business quickly and across all functions. This position requires an extremely perceptive person (organizational and situational awareness), who can relate to individuals at all levels.

COMPUTER SKILLS:

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products including, but not limited to, Word, Excel, and Outlook.

WORK ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to move within office and manufacturing complex, write by hand and keyboard, and perform general office functions.

  • Ability to communicate by speech and hearing via phone and in person.

  • Visual acuity needed for close detail work and computer use.

  • General manufacturing, warehouse and office environment desired.

  • Must have the ability to effectively communicate with employees at all levels of the organization, enlisting the needed cooperation for successful implementation of programs and other measures needed to meet performance standards.
