Micropump, Inc. is the market leader of small, magnetically-driven gear pumps. Magnetically-driven gear pumps are ideal for applications requiring a leak-free environment and the accuracy and control of a positive displacement pump. Their strengths include: pulseless flow, electrical efficiency, small size, high reliability, precise flow control, and long life. Micropump uses a wide variety of materials and technical innovations to address pumping of abrasive and corrosive fluids.
The Director of Human Resources is the business group’s functional leader charged with developing, organizing and executing all Human Resources strategies for the organization. This includes responsibility for the entire employment process, recruitment, employee relations, organizational development, employee compensation, safety, compliance, and employee retention and development. This role will serve as a trusted confident, sounding board and business partner to the Site Leader and be an integral part of the management team.
Manage and execute day to day and long term Human Resource related activities and needs. These will include but not be limited to the following:
Strategic Alignment and Execution
Strategic partner to the General Manager responsible for ensuring functional alignment with the business’ go to market strategies and strategic initiatives.
Represents function and provides appropriate inputs in business group’s key annual strategic processes: Annual Operating Plan, Strategic Plan and Annual HR Talent Review
Coordinate and manage career development plans, based on performance reviews, 360 reviews, Talent/HR Review, etc.
Coordinate and manage training initiatives; annual Talent/HR Review, leadership development, employee skills training and development.
Coordinate and manage the performance management process.
Development of VOE (Voice of Employee) metrics and process improvement projects to drive a high performing culture of engaged team members.
Point person for interpretation and guidance relative to company policies and procedures.
Manages employee issues and grievances to satisfactory resolution and provides guidance to supervisors and managers addressing employee issues and grievances.
Ensures organizational compliance with labor laws and guidelines including but limited to DOL, EEOC, etc.
Schedules meetings and ensures an HR presence with “off-shift” employees (2 nd and 3 rd shifts).
Compliance and HR Administration
Develop, implement and maintain processes that ensure regulatory and organizational policy compliance.
Develop and communicate HR Scorecard to management team, highlighting HR metrics and their impact on the business.
Act as the group’s Ethics Officer to coordinate and manage compliance with all applicable regulatory and corporate policy requirements.
Staffing and Recruitment
Develop and execute a strategic recruitment plan designed to institutionalize top-grading and the continuous improvement of the business’ talent pool.
Deliver a recruitment plan that aligns with business objectives, incorporates traditional and non-traditional recruitment sources and ensures the casting of a “wide net” to attract and introduce qualified diverse candidates to the organization.
Manage and execute the recruitment process; advertising, job descriptions, applicant screening, interview scheduling, and reference checks.
Manage and develop relationships with recruitment agencies (temporary and permanent placement).
Develop, execute and maintain new employee “on-boarding” process.
Compensation, Benefits and Payroll/HRIS
Coordinate and manage compensation plans; prepare and implement annual salary plans, develop and align compensation plans to drive desired employee and business performance.
Maintains HRIS, payroll systems, time and attendance systems, and ensures data integrity.
Coordinate and manage benefits plans; annual benefits open enrollment, and issue resolution.
Safety & Risk Management
Implement best demonstrated safety practices to mitigate risk, reduce exposure and effectively manage claims.
Serve as group’s Safety & Risk Management Officer.
Partner with Operations leadership to manage all required and agreed upon safety programs and training as liaison with Workers Compensation insurer to manage all workers compensation claims to closure.
B.S. in Business, Human Resources or a related field.
An advanced degree is desired
7+ years of experience in Human Resources Generalist roles including past leadership/supervisory assignment(s).
Prior experience in a manufacturing, engineering or Lean manufacturing environment is required.
Extensive employee relations experience is required.
Excellent verbal and written communication and organizational skills are required.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is required.
Demonstrated ability and experience working in a fast-paced, deadline oriented environment is required.
Approximately 10-20% travel is required.
