Human Resources Generalist (Contract role 9-12 months)

SCOPE OF THE ROLE

The Human Resources (HR) Generalist supports the HR Team on recruiting, payroll, time keeping, benefits administration, data integrity in all systems, new hire orientation, government regulations and AAP/EEO compliance, and other assigned administrative/tactical tasks as needed.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & REQUIRED ABILITIES

The ideal candidate will have proven experience working across multiple HR disciplines and have experience with both hourly and salary workforce in a manufacturing environment, collaborating directly with the employees and managers.

Recruiting

  • Process Owner for Workday Recruiting system, including training, job postings and maximizing the automation value.

  • Partner with Recruiting Manager to fill all open positions.

  • Point person for recruiting of hourly positions and temp to perm conversions activities

  • Partner with hiring managers to find and attract top talent.

  • You will manage the full life cycle recruitment process for candidates from initial job requisition to through Week 1 in new role.

  • Requisition, Job Description, Job Posting, Recruiting, Partnership with hiring manager, offer process, new hire background, drug screen and pre-hire paperwork.

  • New Hire paperwork including the complete Form I-9’s, utilizing E-Verify.

  • Create recruiting tools and search strategies to include job postings, recruitment ads, selections matrixes and interview guides. Understand the applicable geographic marketplace and competitive demand for talent. Utilize various sourcing techniques to identify active and passive job candidates for a variety of positions within the organization;

Payroll, Systems and Data Integrity

  • Workday and Kronos System - Own the data entry and information maintenance.

  • Payroll Register Review/Audit - Batch and process transactions for weekly and bi-weekly payroll, including data entry, auditing final batches and approving final payroll register.

  • KRONOS - Monitor the time keeping activity for all hourly employees in KRONOS and administer the necessary adjustments.

  • Monitor Leaves of Absences, including Short Term Disability and FLMA.

  • Assist the department with data integrity.

HR Administration

  • Point person for all administrative actions needed for the team activities. To include employee communications, job postings, bulletin boards, handbook revisions, tracking data, etc.

  • Coordinate “All Hands Meetings”, charitable and employee activities including participating on the Employee Activity Team.

  • Assist employees with HR questions related to Workday Access, form access i.e. Tuition, Safety Shoes/Glasses, Absence forms, etc.

  • Documentation of HR processes in place and automation of current processes to improve productivity and ease of execution.

  • Employee Relations tasks i.e. flowers, employee recognition events, lunches.

  • Enter training records in the system and maintain training records (hard copies) orderly.

  • File worker comp claims and maintain worker comp records.

  • Help maintain EEO/AA programs and activities.

  • Provide and interpret HR guidelines and procedures as related to the business unit and IDEX. For example, monitor and respond to the HR email box.

  • Assist in the administration of IDEX and divisional initiatives in areas such as, training, open enrollment and assist employees with benefits-related questions.

  • Maintain hardcopy and electronic personnel files.

  • Facility mail sort.

  • Department filing as needed.

  • This is an office-based role with flexible hours starting between 8am – 9am EST.

  • Other tasks assigned as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree with a minimum 3 years of human resource coordinator or generalist experience.

  • Proven experience in HRIS system maintenance and Time Keeping systems.

  • Prior experience supporting hourly employees is a must.

  • Experience maintaining the highest level of confidentiality.

  • Resourceful and well organized. High energy level, comfortable multi-tasking in conjunction with day to day activities.

  • Approachable, professional and able to work in a highly confidential environment.

  • Ability to deal with ambiguity and offers solutions to improve processes.

  • Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner; Develops alternative solutions.

  • Excellent computer skills (MS Word and Outlook used the most).

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required;

  • Strong organization and administrative skills.

PREFERED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience in a manufacturing environment

  • Solid understanding of labor laws, state and federal

  • Experience with KRONOS and Workday

  • SHRM-CP or PHR Certification
