Role Summary:

Under the leadership of the VP of Human Resources, the Sr. HR Generalist

will provide support for the human resources function and provide timely,

knowledgeable service to employees relative to HR matters. Essential

functions include processing and maintaining employment and benefits

records, properly interpreting and applying HR policies, and lead internal

communications and engagement initiatives. Will serve as first point of

contact for all union, non-union, and office employee related matters while

effectively delivering a quality HR product.

Primary Responsibilities Include:

HR Operations 40%

  • Responsible for processing and maintaining personnel/benefit records onall employees. Adherence to record retention guidelines to ensure thatfiles are maintained in an organized and secure manner is paramount. Willprepare and verify the accuracy of all information when conductingtransactions, including new hire rates, promotional increase guidelines,transfers, and termination pay through dates.

  • Serves as liaison with IDEX’s HRIS team

  • Manage workers compensation claims to ensure timely compliance reportingof cases and minimizes the injured employee’s recovery time. AssistsEnvironmental Health & Safety Manager with maintaining accurate OSHArecords as directed.

  • Support VP, Human Resources with annual performance management cycle,salary planning, annual bonus administration and other key HR initiatives.Coordinates the affirmative action program efforts.

  • Develops monthly, quarterly, annual HR Reports for management review andanalysis.

  • Assists with the coordination and execution of plans for labor relationsinclusive of contract negotiations, grievances, and arbitration cases

Benefits Administration 30%

  • Assists employees in processing leave of absence requests such as FMLA,STD, LTD, military, personal.

  • Leads the planning and organizing of employee benefit communication/openenrollment meetings and processing all documentation.

  • Serves as Benefit Administrator for the business’ union and non-unionplans by maintaining and processing employee benefits updates andestablishing strong relationships with all benefit providers.

  • Serves as liaison with IDEX’s corporate Benefits team

Recruitment & Staffing 15%

  • Coordinates external job postings/internal bidding for all positions ensures proper reconciliation of labor and cost centers within Workday.

  • Partners with hiring managers to develop strategy for hiring,pre-screening candidates, coordinating interviews, leading applicant flowprocess.

  • Responsible for new hire and benefit orientation and paperwork,background checks and drug screens, org announcements and onboarding plans.

Employee Engagement & Communication 15%

  • Assists supervisors and managers in the development, communication andimplementation of new programs and procedures that affect the workforce ofthe business unit.

  • Will play a key role in company’s annual engagement survey process frominitial communication, roll out of results, focus group meetings, actionplanning.

  • Coordinates and executes supervisory training and development activities.

  • Assist with company-wide engagement and community initiatives that includeUnited Way, Blood Drives, Cook outs, All Employee Meetings.


Experience and Background:

  • Requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Human Resources. MasterDegree and/or HR Certification is highly desirable.

  • 5 years of progressive generalist HR experience in a manufacturingenvironment. Experience working in a union setting preferred.

  • Intermediate knowledge of labor laws, including EEO, wage/hour, staffing,compensation, benefits, employee engagement, unemployment and workerscompensation.

  • Experience in contract administration, HRIS/payroll systems, benefitsadministration, manufacturing safety programs, and workers compensation aplus.

  • Strong PC skills working within MS Office environment. Workday experiencea plus.

  • Demonstrated client/customer, consultative leadership approach.

  • Strong communicator, creative in nature, willing to speak in front oflarge groups of people

  • Requires a self-starter, possesses the ability to take initiative andwork independently in a HR department of two professionals.
